The project will provide adult educators with tested learning materials and methods to discuss digitalisation from a common good perspective, and give adult learners the skills to evaluate digital tools by their social and ecological impact. Organisations will gain practical guidance for more responsible digital choices. All materials will be openly available so that adult education providers across Europe can continue to use them after the project.
Digitalisation in the Eyes of Common Good helps adults understand, assess and shape digitalisation according to the values of the Economy for the Common Good: human dignity, solidarity and social justice, environmental sustainability, and transparency and co-determination. Digital tools change how we work, consume and take part in society, yet adult learners rarely get the chance to reflect on these changes critically. The project gives adult educators and learners the knowledge and methods to examine the social and ecological impact of digital technologies and to make more conscious choices at work, in organisations and in daily life.
Vision Tree brings its combined expertise in psychology and technology to the partnership. We contribute to the learning content on the human side of digitalisation, including digital wellbeing, technostress, online safety and the responsible use of artificial intelligence, and we help translate common good principles into practical exercises for adult learners. Vision Tree also tests the materials with adult learners and educators in Brussels, contributes to quality assurance and evaluation, and leads dissemination in Belgium towards adult education providers, civil society organisations and employers.
