Tomorrow's Climate Pioneers

Overview of the project

Teachers finish the project with tested, up-to-date methodologies for climate education and with a network of colleagues across Europe to rely on. Students gain awareness, confidence and concrete competencies to tackle climate change and to adopt sustainable practices in their own environment. The partnership leaves behind a set of durable resources: a project website, an activities e-book, an active social media presence and the E-Climate Game, all freely accessible and reusable after the funding period. Participating organisations strengthen their collaborative capacity and their position in sustainable, innovative education, united in the goal of making climate literacy a normal part of school life. Four Learning, Teaching and Training events bring teachers and youth workers together around the most effective methodologies for climate education, combining theory with classroom-ready practice. Three milestone virtual conferences keep the dialogue open between partners, schools and stakeholders and make the progress of the project visible. A climate change eTwinning project connects classrooms across borders and turns international collaboration into a learning experience in itself. The consortium develops a comprehensive project website for resources and updates, compiles an e-book documenting innovative activities and educational approaches, and maintains project social media accounts and blogs for community engagement. Finally, the E-Climate Game introduces four interactive modules that make complex climate topics accessible, playful and memorable for young learners.

The aim of the project

Curriculum Expansion: Broaden the educational curriculum so that climate change is addressed across subjects instead of being treated as an isolated topic. Awareness Building: Instill a deep-rooted and realistic sense of sustainability among the younger generation, connecting global processes to daily choices. Skill Development: Foster competencies such as critical thinking, reading data, collaboration and solution-oriented action. Expertise Sharing: Facilitate the exchange of proven methods and effective climate change mitigation strategies between schools and organisations in different countries. Resource Allocation: Supply educators with the tools, lesson plans and digital resources needed for impactful climate education. Networking: Strengthen connections among organisations dedicated to pioneering sustainable teaching methodologies. Professional Advancement: Champion the ongoing professional development of teachers, so that new methods remain in use long after the project ends.

Our Role

Vision Tree is proud to act as the coordinator of Eco-Teens, an Erasmus+ partnership that brings climate change into the heart of everyday teaching. Climate education is too often reduced to a single lesson or an annual project week, while young people grow up with questions, worries and expectations that deserve a structured answer. Eco-Teens therefore works on two levels at the same time: it supports teachers with methods and ready to use material, and it gives students the knowledge, the vocabulary and the confidence to act. Together with our partner organisations we combine classroom practice, psychological insight and digital tools, so that climate awareness becomes a lasting part of the curriculum instead of an occasional theme. This initiative stands at the forefront of our mission to nurture an environmentally conscious and proactive generation.
